As one of the country’s most popular hillside getaway options, Ella draws countless visitors to its verdant mountainous region all year long. In spite of its reputation as a holiday hotspot, Ella still remains a sleepy mountain town with minimal tourist infrastructure. The types of accommodation available in Ella are limited to small hotels, a few luxury hotels, home-stay opportunities and colonial bungalows which have now been converted into boutique hotels.
Tourists on a budget will also find a number of backpacker-friendly hostels in Ella with basic amenities and on-site facilities. The two-star and three-star hotels in the area are also affordable to most backpackers due to the low-interest rate of the local currency. The high-end accommodation providers in the area provide every luxury imaginable in properties set in expansive landscapes which also feature recreational amenities.
